Children 1 year to 6 years of age typically learn the Swim Float Swim sequence.

This full ISR Self-Rescue® sequence involves children swimming until they need air, rotating onto their back to float, then rolling back over to continue swimming. ISR students are taught to repeat this sequence until they reach the safety of the steps, side of the pool, or the shoreline.

This age group will also be required to perform their skills fully clothed. Once they have finished their initial training which typically takes 6 to 8 weeks, your instructor will speak to you about maintenance lessons moving forward.
